This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Oglethorpe chapter.
Where have all the stars gone?
They have retreated to their homes.
They have retreated to a home
Â
Where they get drunk off
Peach wine and Ginger beer,
A spice to spit in a spiked tang,
A tangle of spirit to dull existence’s pain.
Â
I watch the stars in my eyes
Smoke smiles from a pipe,
While I find merriment
In the air of night.
Â
I walk forward furtherÂ
Into the arms of my temptation,
But I do not touch,Â
Much to my heart’s protestation.
