Her Campus American: Where would you love to travel to and why?
Seki Berg: Recently, I’ve been wanting to travel to the French countryside and stay in a little cottage. Living in DC can be exhausting, so I would love to escape the city life for a bit and relax in the countryside.
HCAU: What do you love about American?
SB: I love how passionate people are about the things they study and are involved with, either on or off campus. They are motivated and driven and compels others to do the same.
HCAU: Who was the first person at AU that made you feel like you belonged?
SB: My friend Elise was the first person at AU to make me feel like I belonged. We went to a concert together freshman year and she’s been one of my closest friends and concert/adventure buddies ever since.
HCAU: What’s your perfect day in Seattle like? (Weather? Restaurants? Outings?)
SB: My perfect day in Seattle is a warm and sunny day in August. After getting a late start to the day, my friends and I would drive to South Lake Union and spend the day by the lake tanning and swimming in the cove. I would then go to my favorite Thai place and get food to-go and have a picnic at Gasworks during sunset.
HCAU: What has been your favorite marketing class at AU?
SB: Consumer Behavior. I like learning about what motivates people to buy things and making mock products/services.
HCAU: What are you most looking forward to during spring semester?
SB: This isn’t really school-related, but a couple of friends and I are going to Hawaii for Wellness Week. I’ve never been and am excited to just be lazy and sit at the beach.
HCAU: What do you like to do in your free time?
SB: In my free time, I like to cook, bake, go to the driving range, and go on long drives with the windows down blasting music.

HCAU: If you could give incoming freshmen one piece of advice what would it be?
SB: Don’t get intimidated by everyone and their internships and jobs. I feel like there’s a lot of pressure to get a prestigious internship, but those aren’t for everybody–– the right internship or job will come!
