Love is in the air and Valentine’s day is finally here but wait, you don’t have any idea what you and your boo should do to celebrate? No worries! These fun date ideas are sure to set the mood right all while having an enjoyable V-Day. Especially with Covid-19 restrictions, it’s hard to think of things to do but I hope this list gives you some inspiration for a date to remember this 14th.
1. Romantic movie night
Nothing sets the mood better than a rom-com or your favorite movie. There’s nothing sweeter than cuddling up in comfy clothes with a bowl of yummy popcorn with your one and only. Some love-themed movies to watch could be “Love Actually”, “The Princess Bride”, “10 Things I Hate About You”, or even “Valentine’s Day”! It doesn’t necessarily have to be a romantic movie, as long as you two are enjoying yourselves, that’s all that matters.
2. Watch the sunset/stargaze together
As a fond lover of pretty sights, this one is so cute. I can’t tell you how many times my boyfriend and I have gone on sunset dates (bonus points for it including a picnic). I like to think that the sunset reflects the love we have: something beautiful, and I think that you may feel the same if you choose this date. Bonus points if it includes a fun dinnertime picnic! There’s nothing better than watching a beautiful view with your beau all while enjoying nature and good food.
3. Dinner Date!
Yes, the typical dinner date. While Baltimore and many places do not have indoor dining, a dinner date is still possible. Right now, more than ever it’s important to support our local businesses and what better way to do that than to get some delicious take-out from your favorite restaurant. A candle lit dinner and some romantic music playing in the background are sure to set the mood for a romantic valentine’s date.
Bonus points for cooking together…
Another alternative that provides some more bonding time is cooking dinner together. A fun idea is to begin the night by shopping for ingredients for a yummy dinner for two then cooking it in the kitchen together can be such a fun time to bond together. After cooking it, sitting down to a nice dinner together can be the perfect end to an amazing date together.
4. Road trip/Driving
A road trip is another fun idea for Valentine’s day. Since Valentine’s day is centered around candlelit dinners and romance, a nice alternative for the adventurous couple is a drive. I always enjoy taking a trip to the outlets or just to the local state park when I’m home and when I bring along my SO it makes it even more special. I think it can be such a wonderful time to drive down the interstate holding his hand while our favorite love songs play from the radio.
5. Game Night
This is a more underrated option, my family and I usually have “game nights” on Sundays and this gave me inspiration for a special date night surrounded by playing games together. While arcades and amusement parks remain closed, board games and virtual videogames still exist. Especially if you’re the type of couple that enjoys gaming together, this is perfect for you. Whether it be virtual or in-person, the date game night idea can be incorporated into any of the above dates or just by itself because who doesn’t love friendly competition; especially when it involves laughing and smiling the night away with your special someone?
