During this current pandemic and stay-at-home order, it is natural for people to feel anxious, bored, and even trapped in their own home. As we cannot sufficiently separate our work or academic life from our home life now, our living space can become dreadful and suffocating. To give your room a fresh new makeover, we’ve collected seven ways to amplify your room with budget-friendly interior design ideas.

DIY Flower Vases

While buying mason jars and glass vases can be expensive, reusing plastic or glass bottles can be a resourceful and fun alternative. If there are any empty wine bottles or dish soap bottles hanging around your kitchen, peel off the labels and find bright, warm color paint to apply over them. Having these painted containers in various shapes and vibrant colors are the perfect way to give our room a fresh look.

Stacked Books

Oftentimes we may find books lying around in our rooms unread or piled up waiting to find a secure spot in our room. However, stacking up a few books and adding a staple decor piece either on top or next to it can provide a modern aesthetic. This is a nice interior idea for an office space or even a living room.

Dried / Preserved Flowers

While fresh flowers do bring comfort and life, they are usually short lived. To prevent any perishing, decorating with dried or preserved flowers can add a distinct touch in ambience. Adorning these flowers in colorful containers or even the DIY flower vases is a simple way to stimulate a calming atmosphere.

Knick Knacks

Create a space for a centerpiece or rearrange knick knack decorations on a shelf. Whether it is in the office, bedroom or bathroom, having a display of  small treasures or current favorite jewelry or perfume collection can be a gorgeous embellishment in our room.

If cost is a problem, intricate decor pieces and antiques are available for cheap in thrift shops or other second-hand stores, such as Craiglist or Depop.

Poster Prints

Empty, barren walls can make a room feel lifeless and mundane. To bring in liveliness, find fun art pieces or print posters of your choice to hang up on your walls. A tip in polishing an aesthetic wall is to cultivate a color scheme or a consistent theme. Inserting posters in decorative frames can also add a finishing touch to your personal wall of fame.

Wall Purse Rack

Discover a new form of storage by hanging some fancy purses on your wall. Although displaying all your handbags can look overwhelming and messy, select a few elegant and lavish ones to adorn your wall. This is a nice way to store your bags but also design a pleasurable view inside the house.

DIY Spray Foam Mirror

Another fun interior design project is the foam mirror DIY, a popular trend on Tik-Tok and on Pinterest. All you need is some expanding foam, a mirror, spray paint and some cardboard, newspaper or tarp to work on.

Before foaming, do a test run to get a feel of the texture. Then start spraying the border of the mirror until you are satisfied; the foam will expand over time. To add some color, use colorful spray paint after the foam is dried. Once you have sprayed the perimeter of the frame, wait around until fully dried. Then, voilĂ  a quirky, unique interior piece.
