Already, this semester has me a little bit stressed. Now, there’s a few things I do to cope. 1) Eat too much food, 2) Drink too much coffee, and 3) Read fictional books to escape reality. Since number three happens to be a year long coping mechanism, I tend to keep up on all the new book releases coming out. Here’s a few I think you should check out!
- A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas (February 16th)
-
This book is the fourth book in “A Court of Thorns and Roses”, which is a new adult fantasy series. These books are so good! They will completely transport you into another dimension. Sarah J. Maas is very skilled at world building, so everything you read is super vivid in your mind. Plus, the romance is almost unmatched.
- Yolk by Mary H.K. Choi (March 2nd)
-
Mary H.K. Choi is the author of two other popular novels, “Permanent Record ” and “Emergency Contact.” “Yolk” is a contemporary young adult novel about two estranged sisters that have nothing in common moving in together. The topics in this book may be triggering to some, so beware before reading!
- Second First Impressions by Sally Thorne (April 13th)
-
Sally Thorne, author of the bestselling book, “The Hating Game,” is treating us to something new this April! Many people (including myself) loved Thorne’s first novel, “The Hating Game”, but, also for many, her second novel, “99 Percent Mine,” fell flat. Here’s to hoping that her third book will live up to all of our expectations! In the meantime, I highly recommend that everyone reads, “The Hating Game.”
- Take Me Home Tonight by Morgan Matson (May 4th)
-
“Take Me Home Tonight” is about two bestfriends who decide to spend the night in New York City, but nothing goes as planned. Matson has many extremely popular young adult contemporary books on the shelves, all of which I’ve read and recommend. Some of her most well known books are “Since You’ve Been Gone”, “Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour”, “Second Chance Summer”, and “The Unexpected Everything.” Matson’s writing is super fun and always takes you on an adventure!
- People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry (May 11th)
-
Henry is the author of the bestselling book, “Beach Read,” her first adult novel. Her second, “People We Meet on Vacation,” is about a woman who plans a trip in order to try to win back her best friend. The twist: she thinks she might be in love with him. Henry’s books are a great way to end spring and kick off the start of summer!
I plan on reading all of these books this spring myself, and I think you should check them out too. There’s nothing better than losing yourself in a good book!
