Pandora recently announced a new, never-ending playlist, aptly titled, “Endless Playlist.” This endless playlist is, in part, exactly what it sounds like, but it’s a lot more fun than just an inifinite list of music. It’s a giant game of musical tag, where your favorite artists – from then and now – pick their favorite songs to add to the list. Once an artist has chosen the song they’re going to add, they have to record a message explaining why they love that song and then pass it off to that next artist — and the list goes on and on and on.
Alicia Keys kicked off the playlist with Maxwell’s “This Woman’s Work,” saying the song brings back good memories and just puts her in the zone, and Maxwell tagged new-riser Snoh Aalegra and her song “You,” saying, “The lyrics are very vulnerable, there’s just no ego to it.”
Snoh Aalegra passed the torch to The Neighbourhood with their song “Sweater Weather,” an absolute timeless bop, and lead singer of The Neighbourhood Jesse Rutherford tagged Billie Eilish’s “my future,” saying, “She’s the hope for tomorrow with the voice of right now,” and I couldn’t agree anymore. Billie wrapped up the first round of musical tag with Arlo Parks’ song “Cola.” “It has such a groove to it and makes me feel good,” Billie says about the song. “She deserves everything that the world can provide.”
That’s just the beginning of the ever-growing, genre-mixing playlist, and it’s sure to get even better. Personally, I would tag Harry Styles with “Treat People With Kindness,” so hopefully someone else makes that happen!
