The Holiday Playlist You NEED This Season!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Sacred Heart chapter.

So it’s November.  Halloween came and went. What does that mean?  CHRISTMAS IS COMING!! Ironically enough, it is the most wonderful time of year.  Freeform released their “25 Days of Christmas” movie lineup, Starbucks’ holiday drinks are back and the queen of Christmas, Mariah Carey has officially posted her transition on TikTok from Halloween to Christmas.  Sooo it’s safe to say the holiday season has officially begun, ladies & gents!

Honestly though, what’s the holidays without the holly-jolly music?! I think we can ALL agree that Christmas music makes the holiday season 10x more festive.  So with that, here is the playlist you NEED this holiday season!

1. All I Want For Christmas Is You | Mariah Carey

Like I said, the queen of Christmas is here and she’s here to stay.  Mariah literally invented Christmas bops and I will forever be thankful for this amazing creation that always holds the number one title on my list every year. (I’m not kidding.)

 2. Mistletoe | Justin Bieber

It wouldn’t be a holiday playlist without this gem.  I would put the entire Under the Mistletoe but that would just be me being completely biased.  This is probably the first song I always blast to get in the ~spirit~ because it’s the ideal combo, JBiebs and Christmas…enough said. Petition for Justin to make another Christmas album, PUH-LEASE!!

3. Last Christmas | Ashley Tisdale

Twelve year old me is screaming rn!!  Not only is this a BOP, but it’s the best rendition of a classic tune by the one and only Ashely Tisdale!! This song is found on the Disney Channel Holiday Album with Disney ICONS like Aly and AJ, Corbin Bleu and the Cheetah Girls. (Throwback) The record could not get more Disney, and I LOVE IT.  Thank you for blessing us with this, Ash. <3

 4. Like It’s Christmas | Jonas Brothers

Making a more recent debut, the Jo Bros gifted us with a holiday tune last year that deserves a spot on this playlist for 2020.  Between Nick’s high notes reaching heights like the top of a Christmas tree, and Joe’s soothing sound of how everyday feels like Christmas when he’s with a special someone, I mean what more can you ask for this holiday season? A+ for me!!

5. Santa Tell Me | Ariana Grande

Anything Ari puts her hands on, it just automatically becomes magical.  TBH, I’ve listened to this song countless times in July (no hate.)  It’s just not something I could only jam out to one time of the year. My body won’t allow it. Sorry not sorry!! This song is constantly on repeat during the holiday season and I couldn’t ask for more from Ms. Queen of Pop!

I could go on, and on with this playlist that you’ll eventually be sick of holiday music by the time I finish!! But, these are some songs you should DEFINITELY add to your holiday playlist this year, (if you haven’t already!)

I hope this list brings you lots of cheer and glee!!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS! XOXO
