For anyone who has been living under a rock for the past 13 years, Keeping Up With the Kardashians is an immensely popular reality TV show on the network E!. First aired on October 14th, 2007, the show follows the Kardashian/Jenner family throughout their lives, personal and private. The show is 19 seasons long, all packed with family/relationship drama, career stress, and lots of humor. I personally love watching this show, so I’ve picked out my favorite episodes from seasons 1-4 listed in chronological order. I highly recommend watching all the episodes in order starting from the beginning, but 19 seasons is a lot, so for those of you who don’t have that kind of time, this is a great place to start. Even if you’ve already seen the show, these are the best episodes to go back and rewatch if you’re looking for a laugh.
Season 1 Episode 2: Managing Mom
I chose this episode first because it’s a good representation of what the Kardashian family dynamic looks like. Kris notices that Bruce is having to take care of young Kendall and Kylie a lot lately and does not have much time to himself. In order to help out, Kris decides to hire a Nanny from an agency she has worked with before. Bruce is left to train the new Nanny for the day and things do not go as planned. I love this episode not only for the drama but because Khloe’s humor is hilarious throughout the episode, making comments about the terrible Nanny to Bruce, Kris and the girls.
Season 2 Episode 1: Kim Becomes a Diva
In this episode, Kim lets her fame go to her head and needs to get a reality check from her family. Also, Kim and Khloe convince Kourtney to go through Scott, her boyfriend’s, old phone. They find a few questionable text messages, and Kourtney confronts him about cheating. This episode shows the unique relationship Kim, Khloe and Kourtney have as sisters and is also the beginning of the negative emotions Khloe develops towards Scott which is important in future episodes. It also shows a side of Kourtney’s personality that makes her one of my favorite Kardashians.
Season 2 Episode 3: Khloe Wants to Act
In this episode, Khloe decides to try acting because she is bored of just working at their clothing store, Dash. She is jealous of Kim’s career and uses her night off to try an acting class her friends recommend and forces Kourtney to join her. Khloe and Kourtney’s banter throughout this episode is very entertaining; you’ve probably already heard audio clips of it because clips from the show go viral on the internet all the time. Along with Khloe’s acting class, Kris hires a stylist to take Bruce shopping for new clothes to help him with his fashion. Bruce is very unhappy about this but learns to step outside his comfort zone.
Season 2 Episode 7-8: Kardashian Civil War
The seventh episode of the second season starts with Kim going to pick up her new Bentley with Kourtney, Khloe and Scott. The drive is long and when they arrive they find out Kim’s car is not ready to be picked up after they’ve already waited there for a long time. This small inconvenience starts a huge fight between the sisters as Khloe and Kourtney team up on Kim and get into an enormous fight that continues through the next episode. These two episodes are packed full of drama and surprises.
Season 3 Episode 1: Free Khloe
In this episode, Khloe recalls getting a DUI after a night out. She must take DUI classes in order to resolve her mistake. Due to traveling, Khloe misses many classes and must go to court. In court, she is sentenced to a month of jail time for missing her mandatory classes. This episode gives a really good look into the life of dealing with paparazzi, press, and fake news. Khloe is faced with being labeled an alcoholic and gives insight on how reality is twisted in the tabloids. Her family’s reaction to her sentence and the car ride dropping Khloe off at jail is hilarious.
Season 4 Episode 3: Hot Cup of Love
This episode follows the one before it when Khloe slaps Scott out of anger. In this episode, Kris finds out about Khloe’s outburst and forces her to go to anger management to deal with her issues with Scott. The best part of this episode is when Kris goes out to lunch with a friend and is given what she calls “organic male enhancement pills” from a friend. Like any level minded person, Kris decides to slip a pill into Bruce’s coffee one morning without his knowledge. After realizing that the pills do in fact work, Kris begins to use them pretty often, slipping them into Bruce’s coffee every morning. Eventually, Kris’s morning routine is derailed by her son Rob. Let’s just say that the tainted coffee doesn’t exactly end up in the right hands.
