The pandemic hit everyone like a wave, all in different ways, severity and with consequences.
When we talk about cultural clubs in a college whose essence is to come together in-person to create something. Shifting this entire ordeal online was a difficult task.
Imagine all the dance groups, the music sessions and brainstorming for the literary society, all forced to find ways to do it over laptops remotely.
This would have been felt as a defeat, a halt in all the plans by the clubs head and its members and the people waiting.
But again, that did not shake the vigour of enthusiastic students who not only love what they do but also want to show it to anyone who is willing to see.
We saw various online events which would not have seen the light of day if students were not forced to think outside the box to make the best of the situation.
We saw online dance workshops, zoom debates, and online jam sessions. There is no doubt that the quality and time given to this is suffering. Every club head and their members are trying their best to give everyone an almost alike experience of activities if they were in college.
On the flip side, their social media engagement has boomed which seems more inclusive for anyone who wants to be a part of the said activities.
Thanks to working remotely, we have seen an abundance of collaborations and participation with events, which would not have been possible in person due to proximity issues.
We can for sure say there are areas which have suffered but also areas which have noticed more love than ever before.
One needs to be optimistic enough to see the bright side of the situation and not be held in a lot of ‘What if’s’.
