For music lovers like myself, I am always on a hunt for new music and artists. So here are three artists that I’ve grown to like over the last few months.

Kaash Paige is a 19-year-old singer from Dallas, Texas. She is signed with Roc Nation with two released albums: Teenage Fever, Parked Car Convos. In an interview with Alex Gonzalez on the Dallas Observer Paige states, “When you’re in the hotbox, or like, you’re in the car with somebody sitting there and having like real deep, intimate conversations, I feel like that’s the best way to vent,” Paige says. “It’s the best way to get stuff off of your chest and just vibe out and get to know somebody. If my songs can make you feel a certain way in the car and outside the car, it was just a vibe.” Some songs I recommend to listen to first are Love Songs, London, and Jaded.

Giveon is a 25-year-old singer from Long Beach, California. He is signed to Epic Records and recently released a new album last week named, Take Time. After his feature on Drake’s single, Chicago Freestyle, Giveon has become a fan favorite. Although he has become a more recent hit, Giveon had his first single released back in 2018 named Garden Kisses. Another popular song of Giveon’s is Like I Want You, where he shows fans his ability to hit high notes throughout this hit song. Genius.com compares his music style/ voice with famous R&B singers Frank Ocean and Miguel.

Brent Faiyaz is a 25-year-old singer from Columbia, Maryland. He is signed with the LLC Lost Kids record label. Some popular songs of Brent’s include Rehab, Fuck The World, Poison, and Lovely. In an interview with Rolling Stone Faiyaz states, “I don’t really feel the loyalty to any particular genre… to be completely honest, I’m an R&B singer because I’m black and I sing.” While this artist appears on Billboards, he was also nominated for a Grammy in 2018 in the category of Best Rap/Sung Performance.

Gage, Dewayne. “Brent Faiyaz on Why He’s Not Your Average R&B Artist.” 13, Feburary 2020.
