Peace: it’s been a difficult thing to find in the chaos of the world right now. However, don’t give up hope just yet. Peace still exists in the beautiful world we live in. In honor of International Day of Peace, I’ve compiled a list of the most peaceful places in the world (and WOW, they sure do look amazing!)
So, sit back, try to relax, and plan your next peaceful vacation.
- Cape Elizabeth, Maine
-
While you may not picture Maine at the top of the list for a nice, peaceful vacation, the parks and signature lighthouses will definitely bring you jaw-dropping, relaxing views. If you’re someone who finds peace in being surrounded by water, this may be just the place for you!
- Rio Celeste Falls, Costa Rica
-
One of my best friends studied abroad in Costa Rica and was simply mesmerized by its beauty. Rio Celeste Falls is one of those natural wonders of the world that’ll leave you stunned, filled with bright turquoise blue water surrounded by thick green vegetation.
- Blue Lagoon, Iceland
-
If you’ve ever been to hot springs in Colorado and loved it, this magical place might be for you. It is considered one of the 25 wonders of the world because of the geothermal pool of water (naturally heated by the Earth’s crust). What a way to release your tension!
- Provence, France
-
While Paris, France is fast-paced and bustling, taking a trip to this region in France will bring you peace, unlike the busyness of Paris. While here, you can visit areas that feature stunning lavender fields, beautiful art, and cute little markets. Sounds like a peaceful trip to me!
- Saruni Samburu, Kenya
-
This location is a little different than the rest on this list, simply because it’s so remote––albeit, it looks amazing! There is a remote lodge that has rooms built into the rock with breathtaking views. Not only do you get to stay in an unconventional, luxury lodge, you get to safari and nature-watch while you’re at it.
With the current state of the world, we may not get the opportunity to visit these places quite yet, but maybe even seeing gorgeous locations we may someday visit can help bring us some peace during these heavy times. What a beautiful world we live in.
