Oscuro Deseo (Dark Desire), a Netflix Mexican production, was already being talked about even before its debut, because the series brings as its protagonist the actress and singer Maite Perroni, one of the members of RBD, the last worldwide phenomenon before the internet. Even though she was well-known in Mexico and Brazil before, the actress gained international recognition on July 15th, when the series premiered. In its first 28 days, Oscuro Deseo was watched by 35 million accounts worldwide.

The series tells the story of Alma (Maite Perroni), a law professor who has been married for many years to Judge Leonardo Solares (Jorge Poza), with whom she has a teenage daughter named Zoe (Regina Pavón). The story begins when the woman thinks she is being cheated on, and during a visit to her friend Brenda’s house, she meets Darío Guerra (Alejandro Speitzer).
The next scenes are heated and not recommended for people under 18, Alma and Darío have a hot night. Oscuro Deseo (Dark Desire) spares no effort and excels in its erotic scenes, throughout the episodes more characters appear in intimate moments. For those who liked the hot scenes (but bad script) of 365 DNI, the Mexican series is a good choice (and still as mesmerizing).
After the night of love, Alma expels Darío from her friend’s house, and stays there until the next morning. After that, Alma says goodbye to Brenda (María Fernanda Yepes) and returns to her home where she meets her husband and brother-in-law, Esteban (Erik Hayser).
It is only after this presentation that the series, in fact, begins. Brenda is found dead in her bathtub and Alma discovers that Darío is her student. At that moment, Darío begins to pursue Alma and insists that she should abandon her husband. In parallel, Esteban begins the search for the murder of Brenda, with whom he had an affair.

Oscuro Deseo (Dark Desire) is one of those series that you marathon to discover the answer to so much mystery. In my opinion, the series could be smaller in number of episodes, in total there are 18, which can cause tiredness, but it is worth the wait.
The ending reveals a surprise that makes the second season even more anticipated. On August 19th, Netflix confirmed the renewal of Oscuro Deseo, which has no release date yet.
