Oh, how I don’t like the ending of ‘On My Block’ season three. Waited like year for a good season (which it was), but to end how it did was pretty predictable to be honest.
First off, if you read this far, I’m assuming you watched the ending. If not, stop right now and please go read something else incase this contains some spoiler alerts (I would hate for this to be a moment where curiosity killed the cat and I potentially ruin a good series for you). Now, if you don’t care about that, then please continue to read.
I predicted things like Caesar becoming heavily involved with the Santos and about Monse not coming back. Like C’mon, you guys saw what she said when she was heading to her new school. She knew she was the glue and had to tell them to stick together (they weren’t and that was a no brainer). Also, with Caesar, he just started to show so much aggression towards his brother’s final decisions of leaving the gang life behind and wanting to have a family and live life. I just knew he was turning left in life.
Anyways, how this article came to be was the idea of reflection. I was focused on finding something else to watch, but my boyfriend brought up a deeper meaning to the end. He mentioned how some people go through that. Once certain people move out of your life, or you may move on to bigger things, situations don’t stay the same. That hit me hard now that I am finishing up school.
We all are growing up and going our own paths. Things aren’t going to be as easy as they are now. I get to see my friends every day at school, hang out at each other’s places, and just overall be in each other’s space. Now, we all have to either move back home, move to new places to take on our new chapters, and more. It’s such a bittersweet ending to a great four years. Four years full of laughter, love, tears, and more. Who knew it would suck this bad? I thought High School would suck (which it did) but this right here is…
I know he didn’t mean to turn the ending into such a damper, but he even reflected himself. It was a very interesting topic it turned into. With that being said, I hope everyone takes what I’m about to say and apply it to their life. A friend once told me to “Make memories and cherish moments”. If you haven’t, I hope you start doing so because the moments you make while in college are golden and you won’t get to get them back once you leave. Now that’s not a bad thing, but the memories you make with your love ones in college are unmatched. Make them count and enjoy yourself before it’s too late.
