Still using my planner
My planner is literally the only thing that keeps me sane during the normal school year, so it makes sense for me to continue to use it, even though classes are online. A lot of my professors have changed previous due dates on assignments and changed the format of their classes altogether, so it is helpful to keep track of the changes.
Making a daily routine
I know it’s only the first day of classes, but I think making a routine will create a sense of normalcy that will make this sudden shift a little less weird. This could also help you establish a routine.
Do the same things you would in class
Treating online classes like they are in-person classes is important because it gets you in back into the routine of having class.
Limit distractions
This may be the hardest one because there are so many more distractions at home than there are at school. Maybe setting aside some time to do homework, study or complete readings without your phone or the TV on could help.
Having a specific place to do work
As you probably already know, trying to do homework in your bed is a trap, so designating a place where you can work is probably a good idea. Also, being consistent is where you choose to do your homework is helpful.
