What’s the valiant nut that is the savior for those allergic to peanut butter and the most delectable part of nutty chocolate bars? Almonds! 

Almond Joys got the name right for sure, almonds ARE a joy to eat and while they are busy being amazing, they also offer tremendous health benefits! Almonds are packed with healthy fats, antioxidants and vitamins, so they are great multitaskers and additions to a healthy diet. Here are some other ways almonds offer health benefits:

1. Moisturize Skin and Hair

Since they provide healthy fats and are a source of vitamins A and C, almonds are a great source of moisturization for your skin and hair. Almond oil can be bought in stores and it can be used as a hair mask as well as a moisturizer for your face. The oil seeps into hair and skin to keep hair long and shiny, and skin supple and moisturized.

2. Help With Weight Loss

Despite being high in fats, almonds can help with weight loss. Studies show that nuts can help with boosting metabolism and due to the filling abilities from the plant proteins of almonds, they make good additions to diets. Some snack options include almonds and granola, yogurt or dried fruits!

3. Lowers Blood Pressure and Risk of Diabetes

Almonds are also rich in magnesium, which helps in preventing the risk of diabetes since magnesium is involved in regulating blood sugar processes in your body. Similarly, a high magnesium deficiency is linked with high blood pressure. Due to the magnesium content of almonds, they are an important addition to diets both now and in the long run.

4. Helps Your Digestive System

Almonds provide 3g of fiber per serving, which in turn feeds the healthy bacteria in your gut to ensure that your bowel movements are healthy. A healthy gut is key to building overall body immunity and almonds are great purveyors of fiber for improved gut health.

These tiny nuts offer enormous health benefits and it goes to show how the smallest of things can have the greatest impacts. So make sure to up your almond intake (if possible) collegiettes, your body will thank you for it.
