Each week we will be introducing you to a member of our team with our seriesĀ #MeetTheTeamMonday. This week, Amy is answering some questionsā¦
Ā
Hey Amy! What year are you in and what are you studying at the University of Nottingham?
First year and studying English BA.
Ā
How would your best friend describe you in 3 words?
She said, āfunny, cute and cleverā. The latter one is debatable – but Iām not going to pretend I wasnāt pleased with it!
Ā
Are you a night in or a night out kinda person?
Night out, for sure! I came to Uni having not really gone out that much whereas now I go out clubbing at least twice a week which is kinda crazy! I can safely say university has changed me (for the better Iād like to think).
Ā
What is your plan for when you finish university?
Iāve had my heart set on teaching for quite a while but Iām also quite attracted to the idea of being a journalist so Iām keeping my options open. Anyway, it’s my first year so Iāve got plenty of timeā¦
Ā
What has being at university taught you?Ā
If I could give anyone one piece of advice to people coming to Uni, it would be to just put yourself out there because you never know what good things may come your way.
Ā
What is your favourite spot on campus?
Portland Coffee is by far my favourite place on campus. Youāll always find me there with my laptop and a Cappuccino, or just catching up with friendsā¦ I have nearly tried everything on their menu!
Ā
What is your favourite place in the world that you have visited?
Berlin is one of my favourite cities ever! In particular, Potsdam with its prestigious palaces and botanical gardens, and its rich history during the World Wars and the Cold War. I also went to Peru for a month and that was an amazing experience – the cities I visited were enriched in colour and the views from the top of Machu Picchu are breath-taking. Plus, you canāt beat a llama selfie!
Ā
What is one thing that people wouldnāt necessarily know about you?
Iām a child at heart! I feel like I can come across as quite mature and serious to people that I donāt know very wellā¦ but honestly, that couldnāt be further from the truth. I went to Disney World when I was 18 and I still sleep with teddy bears on my bed. Growing old scares me!
