Tattoos are so fun— it’s just a fact of life. Growing up, tattoos weren’t a taboo subject or something my parents frowned upon— they both have them, as do my older brother and twin sister. At sixteen, just eight days shy of my seventeenth birthday, my mom and best friend went with me to get my first tattoo: a simple black outline of Cape Cod, Massachusetts on my left rib cage. Although she only took about nine minutes, that little baby HURT. Nonetheless, after getting her, I’ve never stopped loving her. Cape Cod has a special place in my heart, and having its outline permanently inked on my skin felt like the most natural thing in the world. I’ve since gotten two other tats and love them both just as much (and both on my ribs again— I’ll never learn). And I want more! So call this what you may, a mood board of things I want, a collection of ~eclectic~ ink to get me inspired, or a place for you funky gals of HC to see my take on eclectic tiny tattoos.
- Honey
-
Starting us off is this cute little hand tattoo with a simple word. I love this look!
- Bees
-
I LOVE BEES AND BEE TATTOOS ARE THE CUTEST THING IN THE WORLD, AND THAT IS ALL.
- The Creation of Man
-
Finding inspo from classic art, like this mesmerizing take on Michelangelo’s The Creation of Man, is so cool. As an art history fanatic, something like this will probably take up residence on my skin one day.
- Stick and Poke
-
Stick and poke tattoos, when done as safely and cleanly as possible, can be super personal and super cute works of art that are individual and adorable.
- Black Light
-
Black light or UV light tattoos are so freaking cool. Look at that! So fun, so flirty! Maybe not my style per se, but they’re awesome and I can’t wait to see more of them.
- Abstract Lines
-
Abstract line tattoos and other weird, geometric-y tattoos have become more popular in recent years, and their sharp lines and angularity have always captivated my interest.
There you have it, ladies! Maybe this provided some ~inspiration~, maybe it reminded you of how much you hate tattoos, who knows. Either way, writing this reinvigorated my intense love for body art and has me itching to get my next tattoo!
