It can be difficult to decide where to go with your besties or your SO when Valentine’s Day comes around. Look no further. We’ve got a great list of places that include a lot of restaurants as well as overall fun date spots.
1. Roxy’s Grilled Cheese
Need a really fun date spot that’ll make you feel like you’re in a gamer’s paradise? Take a trip to the Cambridge location of Roxy’s Grilled Cheese! On the outside it looks like a normal grilled cheese place, but once you go inside, you can go through a freezer door to a secret back room that’s filled with arcade games and two bars! Sadly, this place is only 21+. If you’re still looking to grab a grilled cheese, you can see what all the fuss is about at the front of Roxy’s. I recommend “The Allston”.
2. Fiorella’s
If you want to have a more traditional Italian dinner with your friends or SO, check out Fiorella’s in either Concord Center or Newtonville. Fiorella’s prepares their food with fresh, locally sourced ingredients in the true style of Italy.
3. Cabot’s
Cabot’s is a great ice cream place to go on a date or with your friends! They have a wide selection, and every single option is delicious. They are also currently selling Valentine’s Day themed ice cream cakes and cupcakes to celebrate the holiday.
4. Ice skating on Frog Pond
Looking for a more active Valentine’s Day date? Ice skating gives you a great excuse to hold hands with your bestie or SO while performing beautiful skating tricks or laughing uncontrollably as you fall over. The Boston Frog Pond was voted the best outdoor ice skating rink in the US, and the admission price is only $6.00! They also have skates to rent for a fairly reasonable price.
5. In a Pickle
A Waltham brunch classic! In a Pickle is right on Moody Street and offers both breakfast and lunch. In a Pickle offers some of the most unique breakfast options out there, and their Caramel Crunch French Toast is to die for!
6. Lawn on D
This is one of the most fun places to go in Boston with friends, so gather up your gals and go hop on the light-up swings! The Lawn on D can also be a very romantic place to take your SO, and there is plenty to do there if you are looking for something more unique than a typical candlelit dinner and movie.
7. Museum of Fine Arts
If you like art and your SO takes you to the MFA, you know he/she is a keeper! Located in Boston, the MFA has some incredible collections and tons of exhibits to walk through on a date.
8. Bruins Game or Celtics Game
If you and your friends like sports, getting tickets to see a Bruins game or Celtics game can be a great Valentine’s Day treat. You don’t even have to go to the game on the holiday itself – it’s just a great reason to buy yourself tickets!
9. Nashoba Valley Snowtubing
Love outdoor fun? If you like skiing or snowtubing, the Nashoba Valley is a great place to go for Valentine’s Day. Bundle up in jackets and hats with your gals or SO, and ride tubes at breakneck speed down a slippery slope for a real Valentine’s Day thrill.
10. Go for a walk somewhere!
Don’t underestimate the fun of exploring on your own for Valentine’s Day. Go for a walk by the river, hike in a state park, or walk around town and check out local stores. What matters most is who you choose to spend Valentine’s Day with, not what you do!
