Welcome, welcome, welcome! This is my first (of hopefully many!) letters from the editor. Let me take a moment to introduce myself. I’m Hannah Moskowitz, the current president, Campus Correspondent, and editor-in-chief of Her Campus Ohio U online magazine. I’ll be graduating in May 2020 (a year early) with a degree in Journalism News & Information and a certificate in Social Media and in Women, Gender, Sexualities Studies.
I wanted to write this letter to be able to explain how happy I am with Her Campus at Ohio U and all that it has become. I also want to empower and leave something for future editors and campus correspondents to read and take advice from, such as tip #1 don’t feel discouraged if you don’t get articles for the week, chances are people wrote them but forgot to send them in!
Last year was my first year in the role of president and Camus Correspondent for Her Campus Ohio U, and it was a crazy year of peaks and pits and learning the ropes. This year has been so smooth full of new members, great content, and fresh ideas.
September was a time of adjustment as new members began to create accounts and write their own content. I am so proud to be able to edit their writing and see what amazing writers they are, especially as they grow in their writing and ideas as the weeks continue.
This past October, we had a theme week every single week that pertained to all things fall and Halloween. We also pushed through midterms, papers, and exams while continuing to push out our best content. You might have seen that we also released our first podcast episode of The Passion Project hosted by Caitlin Hunt and I am so excited to see the amazing work she will continue to do.
Things to look forward to the rest of the year definitely include a few more theme weeks, more episodes of our podcast, and another letter from me to end the year! If you as a reader have any questions for me about absolutely anything, reach out to our email hc.ohiou@hercampus.com and I’ll respond through a letter!
Our members have been working extremely hard to ensure their content is interesting and factually correct, as well as our social media managers making sure that our social media is always up to date and fun. We hope you have enjoyed it as much as we have!
Sincerely,
Hannah Moskowitz
