At my house, anything after midnight on October 31st is Christmas territory. Mariah Carey is on full blast that morning and the beloved (and surprisingly controversial) red cups at Starbucks become an essential more than the beverage they contain! Considering the fact that we finally arrived at our much-needed reading week, I think that now is the perfect time to get festive with friends and family.Â
1. As soon as Nov 1st comes around, you’re done with everything fall.
Out with the PSL, in with the peppermint mocha!Â
2. Your friends have told you to stop singing along to your Christmas playlist on Spotify… twice. It’s November 3rd.
Lea Michelle + Christmas Music. Need I say more?Â
3. You’ve already written a detailed wish list…
Hey, after this semester, you deserve it.Â
4. …and made a significant dent in your bank card at Masonville Mall. All for your besties, of course.
There’s nothing that a trip to Coles can’t fix.Â
5. Your room is decked out with string lights and all of the Bath & Body Works holiday scents.
Is there such a thing as “too much” Vanilla Bean Noel?Â
6. You’ve tried to replicate a festive recipe (or five) from Pinterest…
Homemade cinnamon rolls can’t be that hard to make, right?Â
7. …and miserably failed trying at least one of them.
Burnt sugar is, like, totally caramel.Â
8. You totally freaked out when you saw the first snowfall, even though everyone else complained about it.
Break out the Timbs!
9. You’ve debated whether or not it’s too early to get a mini Christmas tree for your room.
You would definitely get a real one if you could turn around in your dorm without bumping into your roommate (sorry!).Â
10. You wish that ABC Family’s 25 Days of Christmas would come on already…Â
It’s the only thing that’s going to get me through finals season, tbh.Â
11. …but secretly love that you have an excuse for re-watching Elf on Netflix until then.
What else am I supposed to do while waiting in line at the UCC Starbucks?!?Â
12. In all its glory, you just love being in the holiday spirit.Â
…and a Happy New Year!Â
Who cares if you receive some unnecessarily shady looks while rocking red and green in November? Hey, Even the Grinch came around. Enjoy the holidays and spread that cheer!
