Which of These 16 Personality Types are You?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Lancaster chapter.

Are you an introvert or an extrovert? Guided more by your thoughts or your feelings?

These are the sorts of qualities that we all think we know, or at least want to know, about ourselves.

But it’s not just us who’re interested. Identifying your personality type is becoming an increasingly common tactic by employers in many career sectors, particularly if the field you’re entering is competitive and sales-based.

Luckily, you can find out whether you’re a Mediator or an Architect, a Defender or an Entertainer, or one of the 12 other types, for yourself! The 16 Personality Types quiz is a fun, quick and simple test that determines which personality type you most closely align with.

It’s based on five personality aspects that combine to paint the bigger picture about your personality:

  1. Mind: are you an introvert or an extravert?
  2. Energy: are you observant or intuitive?
  3. Nature: are you thinking or feeling?
  4. Tactics: are you judging or prospecting?
  5. Identity: are you assertive or turbulent?

You might’ve heard these types referred to in forms such as ISFP-A or ENTJ-T – these are just codes for specialists and employers to identify types more effectively.

Your broader personality type will also fit into one of four even broader roles, which determine your general goals, interests, and preferred activities: Analysts, Diplomats, Sentinels, and Explorers.

There’s a wealth of further research behind the test, but it’s obviously important to take your results with a pinch of salt. Learning about yourself in any way, though, can not only be enlightening, but can help guide you in the direction of the best careers, hobbies, and relationships to strive for.

Plus, it can never hurt to be one step ahead of your employers!
