Anyone in the fashion industry knows the acronym: NYFW. New York Fashion Week holds a warm place in every fashionista’s heart and it is where many stylists get their inspiration. For those who don’t know, NYFW is a week of events where fashion collections are displayed to the public. This September, designer participants included Michael Kors, Rag & Bone, Savage X Fenty and so much more. If you are someone who loves to add current trends to their outfits as much as I do, then keep some ideas in mind!

Have a “Tote” to the Good Life

Good news for everyone, totes are back and better than ever! Various designers featured them throughout fashion week, letting everyone know that the bag that pretty much fits your entire life in it is in. If your outfit needs a quick pick-me-up, spice it up with a cute transparent tote bag with your favorite pattern on it!

Blazers are Back in Business

Whether you mean business or fun, a blazer is the perfect way to give your outfit just the right pop it needs! Now, I do not mean just any old blazer, but white and pastel blazers are really going to give your fit the flavor it needs. Tom Ford’s Spring 2020 collection displays a crisp white blazer with matching pants, a white turtleneck, a white belt and white boots. However, the blazer worn alone is enough to make a statement, and the best part is you can style blazers however you want!

The Favorite Silk Scarf, but Thicker

If you’ve ever watched “Gossip Girl,” you know how to spot a silk scarf from a mile away. What was once a beloved skinny silk scarf is now thicker than remembered and I am loving it! Scarves are one of the most versatile accessories out there and simply throwing it around your neck is bound to do the trick.

Same Color, Different Shade

If you aren’t on the monochrome train already, NYFW gives you just the push to hop on immediately. Color-coded outfits have always been a weakness of mine, and the designers supplied my fashion fix with monochrome outfits. This trend is so easy, because yellow and yellow match! Throw on a silk skirt, turtleneck and blazer like the outfit featured in Brandon Maxwell’s Spring 2020 collection, and you have yourself the cutest monochrome outfit in the room!

Bring Out the Cozy Pants

Comfort is a key essential during a class lecture, especially during final exams. However, not all of us can look and feel our best in a pair of sweats (kudos to you if you can). Luckily, NYFW gave us just the cozy inspiration we needed when many designers featured loose, breathable pants with tight elastic bottoms. When you pair these warm-toned pants with a loose-fitting shirt and your favorite sneakers, you are bound to be the coziest and most stylish person in the room.

You don’t have to be a NYFW model to strut the latest trends before anyone else. If you follow these tips and tricks, you possess the ability to rock the trend anywhere you go!
