Camila Cabello Asks Fans to Stop Sending ‘Hurtful Things’ That Are Causing ‘More Pain’ After Breakup

Following reports that Camila Cabello and her boyfriend Matthew Hussey broke up, Cabello’s ex has received a lot of hate from trolls online. The pop singer has now taken to Instagram to urge fans to back off.

Cabello posted a lengthy note on her Instagram Story, writing, “To my fans, if you really love me, please do not send people I love and care about hateful things.”

“You doing that really hurts me, and it’s so unnecessary and heavy and damaging to add more pain to pain,” the singer continued. “There’s a real person behind your tweets. You spamming them with hateful, insensitive things is really not funny, is causing all of us pain, and doesn’t at all reflect the values I talk about.”

Billboard speculates that the Cabello was referring to the fact that people have been commenting on Hussey’s Instagram page with the lyrics to “Señorita,” her steamy new song with singer Shawn Mendes. According to ABC News, the insanely sexy “Señorita” video has caused the internet to think Mendes and Cabello are into each other, and, although her split from Hussey hasn’t technically been confirmed, the message is clear that fans want Mendes and Cabello together.

“Please be kind and compassionate and sensitive and respectful,” the singer added. “I know you love me, but anyone that’s doing that is really not even respecting the sacred things in my life. The people I love and care about is one of them.”

According to Cosmopolitan, Hussey appears to be getting a lot of negative attention for a particular tweet, where he seems to be talking about his breakup.

Cabello concluded by telling fans that she would “really appreciate it if you would delete any mean comments you’ve sent, and please be kind by leaving it alone.”
