Being in college is not always easy, and money is often tight. As I try to balance my work-study, clubs, organizations, social life, and academics I do not have much time to spare. I want to work off campus as well to earn some extra money, but I feel as though it will be the one thing that puts me over the edge. I do have a good job over the summer at a grocery store that I enjoy. While my income is tight, I have found an interest in couponing.

While I say couponing, I mean I only look for the items I need or want. I am not one of those crazy couponers on tv. I do however, follow some people on Instagram that are a bit coupon obsessed and I admire their work, but once again, I do not have the time for that. I have always loved shopping, especially with my mom. My mom has taught me a lot about shopping. We have always shopped the clearance and have been bargain shoppers. We love it when we find a good deal. I always check my emails for any good sales and almost never buy clothes that are not on sale.

With all of that being said, Target is my all time favorite store. I love everything about that store. Target has an awesome app called “Cartwheel”. This app allows you to check their weekly ad on it and they also offer coupons. The Target app includes manufacturer coupons and target coupons, and sometimes you can even double them up. Over my spring break, I went to Target and used the app and walked out spending $0.44 on cranberry juice, $0.50 on toothpaste and $0.99 on razors.

To some people, this is no big deal and they do not care about paying full price, but for me, it is exciting in some weird way to get a bargain. Coupons are not just for old people, or people who have too much time on their hands. Sure, couponing can take some time but it does not have to take up a whole afternoon.

Obsessive cat lover and crafter!I am a Sophmore at Utica college with a major in Psychology Child-Life Major. I hope to work with children in the hospital someday.
Meet Bianca, I am currently a Junior at Utica College in Utica, NY.  I am a Criminal Justice major with a concentration in Homeland Security.  Crime investigation has always been something that interests me.  I’m dedicated and passionate and it’s hard for me to quit things. I get that from my father so don’t hold it against me- he was a veteran and police officer for 20 years.   Growing up in a family centered around law enforcement has helped guide me in this direction, and I will forever be grateful.  After graduation I intend to continue on to law school where I can further my education in hopes of becoming a criminal defense lawyer and later on a District Attorney.  An interesting fact about myself is that I found the passion to be a criminal defense lawyer from watching the O.J. Simpson case.  The facts and conspiracy theories evoked a whole new passion behind criminal investigation that I intend to use in my future.  One of my most prominent moments in my writing career was when I wrote for an online magazine and had my most prevalent article hit 1.6k shares.  I believe in treating people with the same kind of respect and manners you would expect in return, and in a way it has helped shaped my expectations in life.   When you first meet me I won’t be the loudest in the room or the center of attention, but I will be intently listening to everything you say, for what you have to say may have a purpose. I believe in purpose. I believe that everyone is here to help you grow into who you are today and who you will be tomorrow.
