“The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart” ― Helen Keller
Humans have many emotions, some are equally shared between cultures and continents; some are unique to us. Our emotions are part of a timeline, they start with an emotional experience that results in a response. It is a mental state variously associated with thoughts, feelings, behavioral responses, and a degree of pleasure or displeasure. Emotion is often intertwined with mood, temperament, personality, disposition, and motivation. Part of the challenge that we have in our lives is learning how to accept those emotions and how to stop them from controlling us.
Emotions helps us become passionate for what we believe in and how we handle our day by day. It is one of the hardest things in the world not only expressing them but also handling them. We confront many events and situations that become triggers, that change our emotions in a second. Emotions are complex. According to some theories, they are states of feeling that result in physical and psychological changes that influence our behavior. There are some basic emotions that we all share. They are happiness, sad, anger, fear, excited, surprise.
It is extremely hard to manage and accept them. But at the first moment we learn how to, we control and enjoy them. Our emotions are beautiful things that will motivate us. Crying when we want to, instead of bottling it, is a way of accepting whats happening in our lives at that moment. This is the first step in managing them. Here I’m going to show you some ways to manage them:
- Walk away when you are feeling too angry in order to clear your mind and level you head.
- Take 10 deep breaths
- Sing a song in your head
- Write about how you feel.
- Recall a happy moment.
- Draw something.
- Remind yourself is never ok to harm anyone.
- Ask for help.
- Go to a calm place
- Use your words to express what you are feeling.
