3 Tips to Get You Through the Rest of the Semester

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Alberta chapter.

If you’re anything like me, getting back into the groove of school post-reading-week can take a while. While I often come back to school feeling refreshed, my sleep schedule is always inevitably worse than before the break and studying for more than an hour at a stretch can feel impossible. If you’re feeling frustrated or unmotivated, these 3 tips are sure to get you out of your rut.

Fix your sleep schedule

So somehow my plans to completely shift my sleeping schedule 4 hours earlier overnight didn’t work out??

Moving past feelings of immense disappointment and shock, I turned to the internet to provide some insight and found that shifting your bedtime by small amounts every few days until you reach your goal is a far more effective method; going to bedtime 15 minutes earlier every other day has has been the difference between needing 2 cups of coffee daily and not needing any at all on most days

Have something to work towards

Setting realistic and attainable goals for yourself to work towards each week is a great way to increase productivity and see tangible results of all the hard work you’ve been putting in. Aiming to study for a certain number of hours, or make my way to the gym when I can, are a few simple ways I try to keep myself accountable.

Treat yourself along the way

Small gifts to yourself throughout the semester go a long way in boosting and maintaining your motivation. Images coutesy of:
