On February 2nd this year Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow, predicting an early Spring. With Spring just around the corner, I’ve realized there’s plenty of things I still need to do and so little time to do them. Spring Break needs to be paid for, my social life is practically flushed down the toilet and professors are always tougher during the spring semester. What most of my concerns entail is organization and time management, but where to start?

Bedroom
As basic as it sounds, you should probably start preparing for the warmer season by cleaning out your bedroom.  Go through your drawers, and grab the compilation of junk from underneath your bed. If you haven’t touched any of this stuff in a year, get rid of it. The only items you should consider keeping are mementos from your childhood, and even those should be moved to a different location. After all, a clean and organized room leads to a clean and organized mind.
Closet
Speaking of your bedroom, when was the last time you wore half of those clothes? Spend some time switching out your winter sweaters and boots for some tee shirts and open-toed shoes! And anything that just sat in your closet the entire season should be given away. Consider donating to Goodwill or asking a friend or family member if they are in need of any new clothes. And if you’re looking to make some extra cash, you can always take some photos of the clothes you’re trying to get rid of and post them to your social media to see if anyone wants to pay a pretty penny for them.
Car
With all of the mixed snow, salt and rain, the exterior of my car isn’t looking too hot. Try taking your car in for a nice cleaning and feel free to use the free vacuums to empty out the excess salt and grime resting on your car mats and seats. And if you’re anything like me, your car is flooded with empty water bottles, school supplies and receipts shoved in glove boxes or side doors. Grab a trash bag and get to work. No one enjoys sitting in a messy car. Â
Social Media
Alright, you can’t tell me that you actually know those 3,184 friends on Facebook personally. Did you even talk to 50 of those people last year? Sure, staying in contact with peers from high school is fun, but are any of them going to make an impact on your life 10 years from now? Get rid of all of those people that you don’t really stay in contact with and unfriend the people who don’t even bother liking your posts. They’re only around to stalk you to see how well you’re doing. Fill your feeds with people who are there to support you and inspire you. If you clean out your Facebook timeline, your Instagram followers and your tweets, I can guarantee that you will find yourself in a happier mood.

Phone
Another thing that could use a deep cleaning is your phone. I can’t even begin to think of all of the text messages, pictures and applications I need to delete. My photos are overflowing with 6 copies of the same photo with different filters and my text messages date back to 2017. Also, Daniel from your sophomore year of high school English who you did a group project with can probably be deleted from your contacts. He most likely has a new number, anyway.
Yourself
Let’s be real here, about half of us have already given up on our New Year’s resolution to lose weight, or eat healthier. Ladies,  let’s clean up our act! The more time we spend bettering ourselves, the happier we’ll be. So, throw away all of that junk food and find at least 15 minutes a day to spend exercising. I promise you the results will find you feeling healthier and new. And those Spring break photos will look amazing.
