This upcoming summer should be a good one for me, and I say that because I hope to land an internship relating to fashion. Last summer was okay, but I realized that without anything to really do that keeps me productive, it can be quite boring. I’m really psyched about going to Lacoste for Fall 2019 quarter, but in the meantime, I need something to do. Therefore, I really think a summer internship will be good for me, not only to gain experience, but also to keep me busy over the 2 ½ months.
The first thing I’m really hoping to gain from a summer internship is the obvious: hands on experience. Throughout my 19 years of living, I’ve never really had an actual job and now that I’m in my second year of college, I would really like to change that. Fortunately for me, I’ve never really had to work so I always just never felt the urge up until recently. But besides that fact, I truly want to just obtain more knowledge about my field no matter what aspect and just really be in that environment. the more knowledge the better. Plus, It also doesn’t hurt that I would be getting paid as well,
Secondly, I hope to add to my resume. I know we all have to start somewhere, but I would love to increase the experience portion of my resume seeing that I’ve never really worked before. I’ve constructed my resume to the best of my abilities with what I have, but to be quite honest, I’m not working with much. I really have only have 2-3 things under experience: Etsy store owner, head costume designer for a show, and of course her campus writer. Of course it’s all about quality rather than quantity when it comes to resumes, but I would still love to add a little bit more and keep updating as I gain more experience!
