Dolce and Gabbana dropped by Net-A-Porter after racism scandal
Net-A-Porter is yet another name set to drop Dolce and Gabbana following some serious racist scandals. This came after an ad for the brand’s Chinese runway showing a Chinese model struggling to eat pizza and pasta with a pair of chopsticks in hand. To make matters worse, Stefano Gabbana took to Instagram to reply to the backlash and the Internet was not having it.

The messages went viral, but creative director Stefano claims that the account was hacked, even though he has not been a stranger to racist comments in the past.
Gucci under fire for resembling blackface
Gucci is also under fire for backlash from the internet ollowing a release of one of their new sweaters. Twitter was quick to follow after the launch that telling others to boycott Gucci and that this was resembling blackface.
Alessandro Michele was quick to respond to this in a positive way (very different than Stefano Gabbana I might add) saying racism was never his intention.Â

Gucci’s CEO, Marco Bizzarri, said in a following statement that the brand is working to “increase inclusivity, diversity, participation, and cultural awareness” through the process of launching scholarship programs and internal training. Â
Philipp Plein’s Fall 2019 show with…Kanye West?
New York Fashion Week can be…interesting to say the least. German designer Phillip Plein got the newsworthy angle he was looking for with a near-million-dollar fraud with a fake contract and forged signatures saying that Kanye West would perform at the show. However, he didn’t quite know it at the time.
He’s not performing at any fashion show this season. Just a rumor https://t.co/QcnO1ObEnC

Sources via Fashionista.com say that the black-tie event promised a seated dinner and there ended up only being seating for two-thirds of the guests there. The others were “herded like cattle” in surrounding standing-room-only balconies. Was this the Fyre Fest of NYFW?
What do you think? Are you also boycotting Dolce & Gabbana or Gucci? Do you feel that Gucci’s new pledge for internal training is a little too late? Or are you surprised by Phillip Plein’s disastrous show? Tweet us your thoughts on the latest style buzz!
