5 of My Favorite Kylie Cosmetics Liquid Lipsticks

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UW Stout chapter.

Kylie Cosmetics by Kylie Jenner is one of the leading makeup brands in the world – specifically, with their liquid lipsticks. I’m not one to go out and order expensive makeup – I usually just stick to my main brand of E.L.F. But when I first indulged on a Kylie Cosmetic liquid lip, I would have to say that I was in love. It stays on my lips when I eat and drink, the color doesn’t fade, and it smells boujee. I had only ever been using regular old lipstick when I wanted to add a bit of color to my makeup look and while the regular lipsticks that I used work perfectly fine, they did what every lipstick does – smears when I eat and drink, dries my lips, and smells like chalk. I still wear a good old fashioned lipstick every now and then, but my liquid lipsticks from Kylie’s collection are my go tos. And being that she has so many different colors, I’ll give you my absolute favorites. *Note that not every one that I list, I own. Some of the colors are just that beautiful!

Mary Jo K

This one is my absolute favorite. I had been wanting it ever since I started shopping Kylie Cosmetics back in 2017, but I never got around to purchasing it until a couple of months ago. I’m a sucker for a bright and true red lip and this one was calling my name. To me, red gives off that sassy and classy look, which is my favorite combination. I wear it whenever it matches my outfit – so basically 90% of the time.

Boy Bye

This my other go to. It’s really close to my natural lip color, so when I don’t want to put on a noticeable color, but want to have some sort of lip color on, this is the one that I pick up. It gives my lips a more polished and soft look rather than them being “naked.” It’s so subtle and I actually didn’t know that it existed until I bought it at Ulta. Thank you, Kylie and Ulta Beauty, for collaborating and making it so I don’t have to pay shipping prices.

Victoria

I don’t have the full lip kit, but I do have the mini version of this color. It’s not a bright red like Mary Jo K, but it’s still a statement. To me, it’s more of the sophisticated red. You can wear it when you’re not feeling that sassy red that Mary Jo K gives off. It’s softer. I’ve only wore it one time and I loved how it looked!

Khlo$ (Koko Kollection with Khloe Kardashian)

This was my first ever purchase from Ms. Kylie Jenner. Namely because they were having a really good sale on the Koko Kollection and I figured what a better time to buy. I love this one because it’s nude. I’ve worn it about as much as I’ve worn Mary Jo K – which is a lot. It goes with everything and it also reminds me of the good ol’ days when I first started to really get into makeup.

Pumpkin

This color I don’t own because it has never been on sale and it only comes in a lip kit, which is much more expensive than the singles. It’s such a pretty color. I don’t know if it would even look good on me, but I am obsessed with it and have been EXTREMELY tempted to buy it just to have it, but I’ve refrained much to my wallet’s relief. So, Ulta Beauty reps, if you’re reading this – put in a good word for our dear Pumpkin here!

If you were debating on what color to get, I hope that I gave you some food for thought to help with the decision. It’s a difficult one! As a college student, if I’m going to spend that kind of money on a lipstick, I better be in love with it!

I like cats, the Green Bay Packers, and One Direction. That's about it.
