February, as we should all know, is celebrated as Black History Month in the United States. I, for one, am someone who lets the month pass by without giving much thought to why we dedicate a month to Black history. This past Martin Luther King Jr. Day, I saw a post encouraging white people to do more than simply sharing a picture or quote and moving on. Do some research. Donate to organizations that support Black women. Do the anti-racism work.
So here’s a great resource, a great way to make the most of this historic month, and a great way to open up to new conversations.
It’s called “Me and White Supremacy,” a workbook created from scholar Layla F. Saad’s instagram challenge. This workbook is not only a great anti-racism and educational resource, it’s free. Challenge yourself this month to get out of your comfort zone and understand racist culture a little better.
