Why did you choose Belmont?

I chose Belmont because the notability of the Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business and it’s reputation for being one of the best music business colleges in the country. I have always wanted to have a career in the music industry, so I knew that Belmont would be the perfect school for me. Turns out, I ended up switching my major the second semester of freshman year because I realized I was also really interested in other aspects of entertainment as well. Now, I am an Entertainment Industry Studies major, with a double minor in Music Business and Entertainment Journalism. (Belmont is also in one of my favorite cities ever, and the city that that I call home, so that made the decision even easier.)

What’re your career goals?

Artist management is something I have always been passionate and hope to do as a career someday, however, I would love to one day revamp the show “VH1 Top 20 Countdown” and be the new host. That would be amazing.

Favorite place to go in Nashville?

I honestly don’t go to one place too religiously, because I’m always looking for new places to check out. However, I’m a sucker for the Loveless Cafe, because you can never go wrong with some good home-cookin’ and I swear everything on that menu has been made by my grandma. Other than that, I love Music City Thrift, Portland Brew, 8th and Roast, any and all pizza places in Nashville.

Do you have any hobbies?

When I’m not running around with a million things on my mind, I love to journal, read, and watch 2000’s drama series reruns. I also love to travel (literally anywhere), catch shows at comedy clubs, and go to flea markets and thrift stores for cool finds.

What’s your favorite class you’ve taken at Belmont?

My favorite class I’ve taken at Belmont is The Entertainment Industry with Mark Volman. Although this is a 1000 level class, Mark Volman is one of the funniest, and most interesting professors at Belmont. If you don’t know who Mark is, he’s a member of the band, The Turtles, and has been in the music industry for years. He’s super knowledgeable, and has lots of great stories if you get him talking.

Top 3 favorite bands?

Queen, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Journey

Favorite Movie?

I’d have to go with Love, Rosie on this one. It’s not widely popular, but I absolutely adore Sam Claflin and Lily Collins, who are the two main actors in the movie. I swear I have watched this movie a dozen times, and it never gets old. A close second is Bohemian Rhapsody.

Favorite quote?

“It’s sandwich day. Every Thursday I give Pudge the Fish a peanut butter sandwich. But, today we were out of peanut butter. I asked my sister what to give him and she said a tuna sandwich. I can’t give Pudge tuna! Do you know what tuna is? IT’S FISH! If I gave Pudge tuna, I’d be an abomination!” – Lilo and Stitch (2002)

Favorite Food?

Oh man, I love a good pasta dish. I will literally eat anything made by an old Italian person, to be honest.

What would you say to someone considering joining the HC team?

Do it. I totally joined on a whim, and I love it. It’s really fun to come up with ideas to write about for the magazine and then bring them to life. Everyone on the HC team is really friendly and helpful, and made me feel super welcomed when I first came on the team myself. If you’re even thinking about joining the HC Belmont team, I would say go for it.
