As Jersey Shore star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino starts his prison sentence for tax evasion, his MTV co-star Vinny Guadagnino is asking Kim Kardashian to use her star power to help free his friend from prison, saying that Sorrentino is “better off out here, helping people.”
According to E! News, Guadagnino spoke with TMZ while at the Los Angeles airport about how Sorrentino was doing, saying, “I heard he’s doing great in there.”
“I knew he was gonna do good. He was never like really nervous about it,” Guadagnino said. “So I was praying, I’m like, ‘Oh god I hope once he’s in there, it’s okay.’ But Lauren (Sorrentino’s wife) told us that he’s doing great. They’re updating us on Twitter and Instagram.”
When the TMZ reporter told Guadagnino that Kim Kardashian had successfully helped three inmates regain their freedom, he replied, “So she’s gonna do it for Mike.”

Pitching Sorrentino to the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, Guadagnino said, “Mike is an amazing person. To me, he’s completely reformed — he’s a great member of society. He preaches to kids that have addictions, he’s a big advocate and evangelist for recovery. He’d be better off out here, helping people.”
Ending his conversation with TMZ, the Jersey Shore star told Kardashian to “get on that.”
According to Celebrity Insider, Kardashian has used her influence to advocate for the release of Alice Johnson, Chris Young and Cyntoia Brown.
Sorrentino is currently serving eight months in prison for tax evasion after he turned himself in to authorities at the Federal Correctional Institution in Otisville, New York on January 15th.
His wife, Lauren Sorrentino, has been updating fans on Sorrentino, writing in a recent post on social media, “It is truly heartwarming to have this support during this time.”
