1. Check your University’s “Free & For Sale” and “Textbook Exchange” Facebook pages!
Most schools have a Facebook page where you can sell your old textbooks and buy from other students at your school. I typically check here first for my books since students are willing to sell it for a cheap price and tend to be easy to negotiate since they just what to get them out of their hands. It’s great too because you can get your books delivered the same day you buy them!
2. Order the Kindle version on Amazon!
If you have a book for class you know you’ll only need for a short period this option is perfect! I’m taking a literature class so I have solid five to seven books I have to read this semester which can add up real quick, but I recently found out if you purchase the Kindle version on Amazon, you have a week to return it! The nice thing about this is you don’t even need the kindle tablet either, just downloading the free app will do!
3. Check sites like Slugbooks and Chegg!
If you can’t seem to find your listed textbooks on Facebook or Amazon, try a third party site like Slugbooks.com or Chegg.com. Just type in the ISBN code for your textbook and they will provide you with the best deals for purchase and rental!
