If you go to Seton Hall University, it is no secret that we take pride in being the top Christmas school in America. What’s not to love about the holiday filled with giving and sharing love with the ones we care most about!
If you ask anyone, they will tell you one of my favorite things in the world is Christmas season. However, I am currently a senior at Seton Hall and 2018 was my first and last time watching Christmas tree on the green be lit. I know, crazy right?!
It goes without saying that the show was spectacular and everyone was feeling holly and jolly. SBA set up photo booths with cute holiday filters for students to grab friends and snag a pic. A table over was hot chocolate, apple cider, and candy canes to drink and munch on while you’re in the crowd watching the SHUtacular concert. Of course, it wouldn’t be the holiday season at Seton Hall without a sea of blue Santa hats.
Every act that performed on the stage received a cheer and a crowd counting down until the tree was finally lit up. In fact, this year the tree had more lights than the one standing at Rockefeller Center.
If this wasn’t enough, the campus went all out collecting toys, coats and food for those less fortunate. This lasted throughout the entire month of December.
As finals anxiety started kicking in, the campus gave the student something a little more memorable than years past. In the new cafeteria, a tree stood tall and green with ornaments, lights, and Christmas card strung all around it. A band played holiday bops, and there was a spread of deserts. Of course, Santa came to see how students were doing with finals and making sure they were being nice. On the other hand, the Grinch (YES, THE GRINCH) was sneaking around making sure students were up to snow good (ha, did you catch the pun?)!
With finals winding down, everyone on campus is eager to be back home nestled in their bed with absolutely nothing on the agenda. I can’t wait to do so myself!
