This weekend, I was walking along with my friends at Venice beach when I saw a tattoo/piercing shop. After months of wanting a septum piercing and weeks of talking about my plans to get one, I made a joke about walking into the shop and getting it done that day. Why not? They laughed, and then started to actually encourage me to do it. I knew I wanted one, had done my research on the process and aftercare, and had been planning it out in my head for a while. So, this weekend I got my septum pierced! Nothing quite describes this adventure as well as GIFs do, so here the story:
*sees piercing shop in the distance*
*aggressively looking up store on Yelp to see if they have good reviews* (and they do!)
“Should I do it?….You think so?…Haha yeah…but really should I do it?”
“You’re SO right. I want this. I’ve wanted this. I am a queen.”
“Nope. Nope. Sorry. I am afraid.”
*my friends calm me down and I remember who I am*
“hEllO i wOuLd liKe oNe sEptUm pIerCIng PLEASE.”
*talking to the piercer as he talks about his experience and all the things I need to know and calming down but then seeing the needle that will go into my nose*
The clamp is on my nose. I am clutching my friend’s hand. Time is moving in slow motion. My septum is now getting pierced. Ouch. There are tears streaming down my face.
*literally over in 30 seconds*
*turning to my friends to reveal my piercing*
“Guys! How do I look?”
Them:
*looking in the mirror for the first time*
*how I feel leaving the store and honestly ever since I got it*
Cleaning!
3 times!
A day!
Thank you for reading about my adventure! I am so happy with this piercing and taking the leap to get it was so worth it!
