Life has been pretty hectic for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex since getting married a little less than six months ago, with the royal couple having already embarked on their first royal tour and announced that they’re expecting their first child. While all of this has been happening, Meghan Markle’s personal assistant, known only as Melissa, has reportedly resigned, according to the Daily Mail, as have two other close aides to the couple.Â
While Kensington Palace declined to comment on Melissa’s departure, a Palace source was authorized to pay tribute to her, stating that she was a “hugely talented person” and that she “played a pivotal role in the success of the Royal Wedding and will be missed by everyone in the Royal Household.”Â
Also leaving her post is Samantha Cohen, the royal couple’s private secretary who has been working with the royal family for 17 years. It was her role to prepare Markle for what life as a royal would be like.Â
Melissa and Cohen’s departures follow Edward Lane Fox, who stopped working for Prince Harry during the summer after 15 years in the role.
“His Royal Highness is hugely grateful to Ed for his hard work during a period that has seen the launch and growth of the Invictus Games, countless tours around the world, and the detailed planning for his wedding,” a spokesman for the Prince said at the time.Â
It is currently unknown if Kensington Palace will officially confirm the reports or announce vacancies. In the meantime, we wish the royal couple the best of luck in getting through their busy lives!
