Five Celebrities Using Their Voices This November

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at CWU chapter.

November is the month for three things: voting, turkey day, and black Friday deals. Now, midterms may not seem like a big deal, but with the current state of our administration, they’re more important than ever. I mean, even celebrities are using their platforms this time around. With that being said, here’s five celebrities that are going out to vote this November!

1. Taylor Swift

While Taylor has stayed quiet about politics in the past, she recently turned to social media in a post stating, “These two Tennessee women voted for the candidate who has proven himself to be reasonable and trustworthy. We want leadership, not fear-based extremism. Early voting goes til Thursday and Election Day is November 6. Please don’t sit this one out.”

2. Chelsea Handler

On Monday, Chelsea Handler and 50 other celebrities are hosting a live stream election telethon aimed at encouraging young voters to go out and hit the polls on Tuesday.

3. Leonardo DiCaprio

Leo appeared in a video with Brad Pitt encouraging voters to go out and not only vote, but go above and beyond and really fight for change within our government.

4. Chance the Rapper

Chance has been a huge supporter in the elections this year, backing the Chicago mayoral candidate Amara Enyia. He appeared at a rally in support of her in October.

5. Tracee Ellis Ross

Tracee went to twitter in support of Andrew Gillum, encourage people to vote for him for Florida governor.
