Well, it’s starting to get cold in Ruston, LA, and we all know what that means: ‘tis cuffing season. In case you aren’t 100% up to date with the lingo, cuffing season denotes the time of year where singles aren’t just mingling. As the weather gets stiffer, people seek snuggly, locked-down relationships.
So, if you’re caught in the craze, what should you and your new, season-appropriate boo be doing around town? We’re here to tell you.
Early Morning Coffee.
Ruston doesn’t have a whole lot, but we do have an exceptional number of coffee shops, and several of them have new, seasonal drinks. So, now is the perfect time to convert your bae or potential bae to your shop of choice.
Late Night Stroll Downtown.
Reasons why this is a wonderful idea: You can actually meet your step goal that day and there aren’t too many people around because everything closes early here, so midnight kisses are free game.
Double, Triple, Quadruple Date.
Four couples might be going overboard, but double dates are a must during cuffing season. You can stay in town or make a quick trip to Monroe with your gal-pal and your new sweethearts. Plus, you can pair this with any of the must-do’s here or on any of our other checklists.
Go on a Picnic.
Now, this might sound crazy, but remember that this is Louisiana we’re talking about. Our “fall” and “winter” weather is actually pretty pleasant, and we have plenty of sunny spots to take advantage of from the Quad to the various parks around Ruston. Just bring some blankets, food, and a sweater; you’re good to go. Plus, it being a little chilly gives you the perfect excuse for snuggles.
