I don’t know about anyone else, but I can’t study at home. Every time I try to, I either fall asleep or decide to go on a cleaning spree in my room. Knowing that I’m at home is a distraction in itself, so I never get anything done. It’s important have a space that you can go to, and actually get work done.

  1. University Union: Although the Union is usually filled with loud students catching up with their friends or grabbing a bite to eat, there are some solid spots to study or get some work done. The first gem is the fourth floor. If you’re lucky enough, you can snag one of the comfy couches and catch up on some homework, but if you’re not, the next best spot would be the terrace! On the right day, the terrace can be the perfect place to chill out and catch up on work. The view is an added bonus!

  1. Aura Coffee: If the Union is too crowded for you, Aura Coffee is the next best place. It’s about a ten minute walk from the Union. This coffee shop’s mellow music and strong coffee aroma foster the perfect place for a study session alone or with a group. If you need break from studying, you can grab one of their chocolate muffins and a cold brew coffee!

  2. Zera Coffee: If you couldn’t already tell, I’m obsessed with coffee shops. I think that they’re the best place to get work done. Zera is about a eight minute drive from UNT. This coffee shop is cozy, charming and peaceful. Just like Aura, it is the perfect place for a group study session! At night, the lights on the patio are such a beautiful sight. You can get a study sesh in and a cute Insta pic!

  3. Willis Library: I couldn’t complete this list without Club Willis. It’s such a different environment from your dorm or apartment, so you’re forced to get to get stuff done. It’s not as comfortable as a coffee shop or the couches in the Union, but that’s what makes it a good place to study for a test. You’re so uncomfortable that you force yourself to be productive, so you can get out of there. It’s a great place to study alone or study with a group of friends.

  4. Eagle Commons Library: I don’t know if many people know about this gem, but it’s located in Sycamore Hall. It’s on the side facing the Life Sciences Buildings. I’ve only been in there a couple of times, but it is always so quiet and calm. There aren’t too many people in there at once, so if you’re looking for a quieter place to study, this is definitely the spot for you!

  5. Starbucks: Yes, another coffee shop. I can’t help it! The smell of coffee motivates me. I can’t think of one person who wouldn’t recommend Starbucks as a place to study or just get your life together. When the Starbucks in the Union is too crowded, there a few more around Denton you can visitCourtesy(http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WMG1JZ_Starbucks_Rayzor_Ranch_Univers…)
