The time of year has come when so many girls go through recruitment to find their forever home. With recruitment being a few days away, we asked Panhellenic President Kailyn Adams and Recruitment Counselor Emma Roberto for some tips and truths about what to expect for recruitment.
1. Be Yourself
It’s so important to be just simply you, the good the bad and the ugly, Leave it all on the table.  Both Adams and Roberto said that this was the most important tip they had for girls going through the process. Adams said, “you won’t find your forever home or your girl gang if you aren’t true to who you are. “

2. Recruitment Counselors
These are girls who have spent an entire summer prepping to help you find your forever home, so lean on them. As a recruitment counselor, Roberto said that they are there to listen and answer any questions that you may have.
Â
3. Have an Open Mind
“Don’t let others sway your opinions of those other organizations. That will only close you up to so many opportunities and people that you could have connected and potentially have become sisters with,” said Roberto.
Â
4. Have a Positive Attitude
Through this process, it may be hard to stay positive and fight feeling discouraged, but remember that no decision is personal. You are so close to finding your people.
Â
5. Do your Homework
“Though the timeline of recruitment is short, it is jam-packed without too much down time. Be prepared; stay ahead in classes. Remember there are GPA requirements to join an organization,” said Adams.
Â
6. Outfits
Yes, there are a few guidelines to what not to wear and what you should wear, but at the end of the day, remember to be comfortable and true to yourself. Adams said, “if you’re a girl who loves to wear heels, rock them. If you have a more casual style, own it!”
Â
7. Nerves
Guess what, you’re not the only one who is anxious about meeting new faces. The girls on the other side of things are just as nervous to meet you!
Â
8. Speak Up!
Finally, speak up if you feel something is wrong. “If you’re put into an uncomfortable situation during the recruitment process, or if you feel that something just isn’t right, don’t hesitate to tell your recruitment counselors or a member of the Panhellenic Council,” said Adams.
Â
Yes, recruitment is scary, but everyone is there to help and make the process as smooth as possible. As the time comes closer, remember to stay true to yourself. You’re almost to your forever home.
