If you’ve ever seen any representation of a sorority in pop culture, there is a good chance you have seen a sorority house in some way or another.
You may have seen these huge mansions with all these insane things like chefs and and pools and such.
(The Zeta Beta Zeta house from the old TV show, GREEK.)
My chapter house, however, is quaint.
I share it with 10 of my sisters that I absolutely love. For a lot of people, living with that many people, let alone that many girls, seems kind of daunting, but truth be told, it’s so much cooler than I expected. Even though being in a sorority is already an incredible experience where you bond with an amazing group of girls, living in my chapter house has enhanced my experience SO much.
Some of my best friends in my chapter are the girls that I share the house with; my roommate and I are extremely tight, and that makes it even better. It seriously feels like we have a sleepover every night, laying across the room and giggling at memes for borderline unhealthy periods of time.
I’m an only child, so being in a house where there’s always someone my age to watch Netflix with or bake cookies with is something I never had but always wanted, and I get that now, every single day.

As much as I value my alone time, living in community with the girls I care about the most has done wonders for me.
Just the other night, a group of us got together and made breakfast for dinner, and I know I’m going to look back on that and have it be such a great memory of just laughing and spending quality time with my sorority sisters. Joining a sorority gave me the sisters I never had, and getting to live with so many of my sisters is something I will never take for granted.
