On Wednesday, Beyoncé and Jay-Z opened their “On The Run II” tour in Cardiff, Wales — and if that wasn’t enough excitement for the Beyhive as it is, the entire Internet lost its collective mind when an image showing the couple holding two babies (which could easily have been their one-year-old twins Rumi and Sir) was shown on stage.
The photos, which featured the titles “Love Is Universal” and “Love Never Changes” showed both Bey and Jay holding two babies, one in each arm — and both look to be around the age of Sir and Rumi, so really, what were we supposed to think?

I mean, considering the fact that this was possibly what would have been only our second glimpse of Rumi and Sir since Bey debuted a photo of them nearly a year ago, can you really blame anyone for freaking out? Absolutely not, as this is very appropriate Beyoncé protocol. While this seems like the perfect moment for them to finally show us more Sir and Rumi content, unfortunately, the adorable chubster babies featured in the photo are actually *not* Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s. According to Queen Bey’s rep’s very straightforward answer to BuzzFeed, “It’s not [the twins],” and there you have it.
TBH I’m not saying that I’m not feeling a bit personally attacked by their sly move, but I guess I also understand Bey and Jay’s need to keep their family private. Just don’t get my hopes up next time!
