If you find that you do not often like being alone, then here are some steps to help you eliminate the feeling of loneliness and hopefully enjoy the peace that comes with giving yourself some alone time.
1. Push yourself to have some “me” time
Though it may be uncomfortable, the best thing to do is just try it. You never know how it may turn out. The hype behind the thought of having some alone time could be holding you back. When you give yourself “me” time you discover new interests.
2. Explore hobbies or interests
Always surrounding yourself with people results in you giving your attention and interest into others. Ofcourse it is a good thing to entertain others, but if you always are entertaining others you will not be able try things that entertain you. Discovering what makes you happy involves a good amount of exploration. Give yourself some time alone from others that allows you to find activities that make you happy.
3. Try new things
New activities and interests may seem scary but chances are the results are not quite your expectations. You never truly know how you feel about something until you try it. Pushing yourself to try new things might be just what you need to discover your new niche. Trying new things does sacrifice your comfort, but being uncomfortable signifies growth. Encourage yourself to step out of your comfort zone you may be surprised with the turn out.
4. Build new relationships
Many times building new relationships comes off as a bad thing but it is okay to expand your horizons and put yourself out into the world. Get involved in your community and meet new people. By opening up yourself to new people you may find things about yourself that you did not realize before.
5. Indulge in self-care
Whenever people refer to having “me” time it is always assumed that they are gonna pamper themselves. If you are feeling down or lonely, “me” time is just the pick me up you need. Try a face mask or hair mask. It is a great way to treat yourself and reap the benefits.
