Thankfully midterms are far behind us, however; finals are just around the corner and the end of semester crunch is about to begin. So where to study and get all your work done? Check out these different places on and around campus that’ll fit all your studying needs!
Â
Intense Studying:
At some point in college you’ll find yourself faced with the need for that dead silent isolated place to cram for a test. If you have unfortunately found yourself in this position don’t stress! The main library reading room can be a good option. It’s open, quiet and the long tables give you a place to really spread out. Looking for something a little more closed off? Try the Grainger Engineering library. There are plenty of cubicles where you can just close yourself and really get down to studying.
Â
Bright Open Space:
It happens to all of us. You just find yourself dozing off during studying or you just end up feeling bored out of your mind in the library. A bright open study space can be a great way to offset those feelings. Temple Hoyne Buell Hall is located on the south quad and it’s open design and windows allow for that bright space. Another option is Krannert. The open design coupled with plenty of tables gives you a great option to get your studying done.
Â
Chill Space:
That ~coffee shop vibe~ is a great place to do work that isn’t intense like applying for jobs, catching up on emails or really just trying to organize yourself. For the on campus option, Espresso Royale on Daniel Street is a great choice. If you’re feeling adventurous check out some of the off-campus coffee shops. Aroma Cafe and Flying Machine Avionics both give you that chill coffee shop vibe. Plus there are plenty of other coffee shops in the area to explore!
A Day of Studying:
If you find yourself Saturday morning debating where you can go all day to get your work done the Union is the solution. There are different places within the union that yield different types of study environments that can suite the different moods you feeling during your studying throughout the day. Plus, there are plenty of options for food plus coffee to keep you going.

In Between Class Studying:
So you got out of class 15 minutes early and it’s just too soon to head off to your next destination. The communications library is a great place to post up to get some emails answered and reorganize. The first floor has some quieter space if that’s what you’re looking for. Another option is to opt for the basement level for couches and a generally more relaxed space.
