Old television shows that were loved by so many have started making a comeback. After Will and Grace got such a large and positive response from their reboot, the actors of the hit comedy show Roseanne decided that after twenty years since their first episode aired in 1988, it was time to give the people what they wanted, and boy, was it wanted. The new reboot aired this past week and brought in over eighteen million viewers. My oldest sister used to watch the old episodes on repeat when we were growing up, so I knew the show very well. I loved the show when I was younger and with the entire cast coming back, I thought it would be good to give the reboot a try.

When I was younger, I did not really understand the humor in it. I watched it because my sister did, and I wanted to spend time with her. I watched the first two episodes of the reboot and was given a blast from the past. The setting was the same, the actors the same, all with new shiny storylines. After seeing the new episodes, I had to go onto Amazon Prime Video and watch the old episodes to get a comparison. Needless to say, the Connor Family has not changed one bit. The new episodes are broadcasted on Hulu the day after they air, and you can go to Amazon Prime (Which you get half off if you are a student, like me) and go watch all the old ones too. Now that I am an adult, I definitely had that moment where you suddenly get the type of humor they used back then. You start to understand the jokes and innuendos that were used that a young child could never understand.
Overall, I would recommend re-watching some old episodes, and then watching the new ones for a nostalgic comparison.Â
