Nina Dobrev parted from the TV world last year after leaving The CW’s The Vampire Diaries. Dobrev has not been part of the show since season six, and she confirmed the news to fans on Instagram that she and Michael Trevino would be exiting.
Since leaving The Vampire Diaries, Dobrev has been raging through the movie screen. Her recent roles includexXx: Return of Xander Cage, the remake of Flatliners, and an indie comedy called Crashpad. She also has plans for more upcoming indie movies, including Dog Days, Departures, and Lucky Day.
Fam’s Clem provides a more light-hearted role for Dobrev, something she was looking for after leaving TVD. “I’ve always wanted to take big risks. I started Vampire Diaries when I was 20, and I was playing a young teenage girl,” she explained. “I grew with the show and I wanted to continue to grow outside of it.”
She added, “I wanted to prove everyone wrong who said I would play this one role my whole life or be stuck playing younger roles.”
With her new movie parts already causing buzz, hopefully Fam’s Clem will be the exciting TV role she’s been waiting for.
