With the start of March, spring break season is upon us, which means it is time to start thinking about your travel plans. The beach always seems to be everyone’s go-to destination, but this year if you are feeling adventurous, plan a trip to a new non beach city. Here are a few of America’s favorite Midwestern destinations you can explore this spring break.

Nashville
Take a trip to The Music City this spring break and fulfill all your country music desires. Nashville has become one of the hottest destinations in the past few years because of its live music scene, honky-tonk bars, trendy fashion shops and unique restaurants. While in the city, you can visit museums like the Country Music Hall of Fame, snap a photo with the “I Believe in Nashville” mural and shop at fashion boutiques in “The Gulch” neighborhood. There are always concerts going on and entertainment everywhere downtown, so you will never be bored.

Cincinnati
Whether you call it the Queen City, Cincy or the Blue Chip City, Cincinnati remains one of America’s most historic towns. During your spring break in this riverfront city, you can visit Fiona the hippo at the Cincinnati Zoo, catch a fly ball at a Cincinnati Reds’ baseball game or take a stroll over the Ohio River on the Purple People Bridge.

Louisville
Best known for the Kentucky Derby, Louisville has a lot to offer visitors with its unique blend of big city life and southern hospitality. This spring break explore all the city has to offer by eating at some of Louisville’s unique restaurants on Bardstown Road, walking around the University of Louisville’s campus and watching horse races at Churchill Downs. Louisville is also rich in museums such as the Louisville Slugger Museum, the Speed Art Museum, Kentucky Derby Museum and the Muhammad Ali Center.

Chicago
Hop on over to the Windy City this spring break if you are in the mood for lots of sightseeing and shopping. Shop til you drop on Michigan Avenue, snap a selfie in the famous “Bean” statue in Millenium Park or view the sunset atop the Centennial Wheel at Navy Pier. There is never a shortage of good food in Chi-town, so you can eat all of the deep dish pizza and Portillo’s sandwiches your heart desires. The possibilities to find something fun to do in Chicago are endless.

Indianapolis
As the state capital of Indiana, Indianapolis offers visitors a unique experience with its wide array of museums, state parks and family fun. This spring break if you are looking for a big city with a quaint small town vibe then Indianapolis is the perfect spot for you. Catch a race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, feel like a kid again at the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis or take a boat ride down Indy’s Central Canal. You can even snag an Instagram-worthy photo with the famous Love statue at the Indianapolis Museum of Art.
