The words “spring break” typically evoke images of road trips, beach parties, and exciting adventures. But some students return home for their entire break, whether for logistical reasons or simply because they don’t want to go somewhere else. If you’re one of these students, there are plenty of ways you can relax and have fun in your hometown!
1. Plan a day trip
Just because you’re not traveling far away doesn’t mean you can’t visit somewhere close to home! If there’s an attraction nearby or even an hour or two away, get your family or friends together for a day-long adventure!
2. Meet up with an old friend
If there’s someone in the area you want to reconnect with, you can meet them at a café or some other relaxing place to catch up!
3. Have a spa day
A spa treatment is the perfect way to relax after weeks of hard work. You can visit a local spa, or you can give yourself a facial and a manicure at home!
4. Experiment with your makeup
Maybe you can finally perfect your winged eyeliner or learn a new way to do your eyeshadow!
5. Read a book for pleasure
Take a break from your required reading and pick up a book you’ve been meaning to read for a while. Lighthearted contemporary novels are a great choice for a low-stress reading experience, but any genre will do!
6. Catch up on your favorite shows
With your bust schedule during the semester, you’ve undoubtedly fallen behind on a few TV shows. Now you have some time to squeeze in those episodes you’ve missed!
7. Play with your pet
If you have a pet at home, you can give them some extra love to make up for the time you missed with them during the semester!
8. Create something
Whether you like to make Pinterest-worthy DIY projects, bake delicious cookies, or write beautiful poems, tapping into your creative side is a fun way to spend an afternoon!
9. Look for summer jobs or internships
This might not sound like your typical idea of relaxation, but it’s a good idea to use your free time to figure out what you’re going to do over the summer. It’ll be much less stressful without your other school responsibilities piled on top. Plus, it can get you excited about what the summer has to offer!
10. Have breakfast for dinner
Because breakfast foods are the ultimate comfort.
