Makeup doesn’t come easy to everyone, especially eyeshadow. The blending, the color choices, and all the makeup brushes can be overwhelming to those a little less makeup inclined. And the beast that most of those girls or guys are a little less than thrilled to tackle? The Smokey Eye.  Well lucky for you all, we have this wondrous website called YouTube and these amazing people called Beauty Gurus. In these videos, they take the beast of all beasts and ease it down to a little kitten you just can’t help but cuddle. Whether you’re looking for a casual everyday Smokey Eye or a downtown Saturday night look, they’ve got you covered.
1. Bronze-y Brown Shimmer Smokey Eye (No brushes required)
Tati is one of my particularly favorite makeup Youtubers. She always has budget friendly options or suggestions and killer advice for novice makeup users. Tati starts out pretty basic but then ends with ~quite~ a kick of shine.
2. Basic Brown and Black Smokey Cat Eye (Only one Pallette needed)
Jaclyn Hill is known for her effervescent personality and exquisite taste in makeup products. This look is for those looking for sophisticated glam but also looking for a simple way to achieve it.
3. Burgundy Glam Smokey Eye (Crystal Gem Optional)
Always shaking up the beauty community, and only 18 YEARS OLD, James Charles tends to push the envelope when it comes to serving looks. If you want a little more color, this eye look is perfect for you! Add a little ~extra~ by applying a crystal gem under your eyes, or keep it as is to make it more simple.
4. Basic Every Day Smokey Eye (Takes Less than 5 Minutes to Complete)
This young guru Laura Leth has her own company that started out with fake eyelashes and has now branched into jewelry and accessories! If you’re in a rush to meet the girls, or trying to get presentable for that 7am class, this look is fabulous.
5. A True Black Smokey Eye (Not for the Faint Hearted)
Mykie is not only a specialist in Glam, she also has hundreds of videos on SFX makeup. Want to be a zombie for a day? Or the ever basic Harley Quinn? She’s got you covered. Now THIS is the smolder-y look you want for a Saturday night on the town with the girls. Pro-tip: Do your face makeup AFTER you complete the Smokey Eye. That way you don’t get black eyeshadow all over your perfectly blended foundation and concealer.  Â
